We are seeking a Maintenance Technician to become the newest member of our maintenance team. The position will be based out of our East Coast Seafood Corporate Headquarters, also known as Seatrade, located on the New Bedford, MA waterfront. Technicians also support our second location, also located on the New Bedford waterfront. Travel to and from both locations will be necessary.
You will be responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
As a Maintenance Technician, a typical day might include the following:
- Ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
- Following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot malfunctions.
- Reading and interpreting equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Locating sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instrument to diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and adjust.
- Performing regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Using a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters to perform duties.
- Detecting faulty operations, defective material and reporting those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Completing daily/weekly/monthly checklists.
- Complying with safety regulations, BRC and OSHA regulations, and maintain a clean and orderly work area

- You have 3-5 years of previous maintenance experience in a production environment.
- Strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC.
- You have strong experience in welding, electrical and mechanical skills
- You are self-motivated to complete tasks in a timely manner and have perseverance to follow through to completion
